Ari Marcopolous was/is a genius. That Metropolitan ad is amazing.

hairfarmer said...

Definitely. Metropolitan ads were all pretty top-notch. His photo feature in that Transworld with the Guy pro spotlight was amazing as well.

frontside flip is amazing. I've seen a lot of stuff from people wearing those shoes with the big vans V thingin the past, anybody know what they were called?

hairfarmer said...

I feel like they were called No Skools, but I may be wrong.

Your right HF.

Hairfarmer, Have you seen Ari's book Out and About? It has a section called "Skaters NYC 1994-1997". Definitely worth getting if you can find a copy. Also, yurishibuya.com has some interesting NYC skate culture photos.

Hickey is one of the best. do you have that stereo ad where its him and Greg Hunt? also, what about those old "a new york minute" articles ted used to do with transworld? do you have any? they were tight...the one that said Ryan "king of new york" Hickey was a tight pic.
